This well known, impression of contemporary Paris, was painted by Renoir during the period that his studio was in Rue Saint-Georges. There is no comparable painting by Renoir of contemporary life outdoors, either urban or weekend, in any British public collection outside London. This work was acquired with assistance from the Wolfson Foundation.
