Caricature of Sir Claude Phillips, first keeper of the Wallace Collection (1897-1912). He was music critic and subsequently art critic for the 'Daily Telegraph' and played a prominent part in the foundation of the Art Fund. One of 26 gifts to 19 museums by Sir Alec Martin or Sir Alec and Lady Martin through the Art Fund between 1935 and 1967.
