Iain MacCormick archive

Iain McCormick, c. 1930s–1990s

This is a unique collection of primary artwork and material relating to an important period of the resurgence of Celtic applied art by renowned practitioner Iain McCormick of Iona. It consists of two main core sections of original source material: 1) An indexed collection of eleven bound volumes of mainly original hand-drawn, annotated and coloured patterns and designs, for jewellery, metal work (copper, brass and pewter), textiles and leather goods (see main illustration). 2-3) A large collection of loose hand-written and drawn, watercolour, printed and copied materials. The archive includes original works for the Iona Press and a currently unknown (and believed un-published) work for the Iona Press.
