Honiton lace shawl

Mary Tucker, c. 1865–1870

Honiton is a bobbin lace made on a pillow, the most famous surviving example being the magnificent flounce made for Queen Victoria's wedding dress. Mary Tucker was the daughter of John Tucker of Branscombe, one of the leading lace makers in the Honiton area.
