Gunnersbury Park
Maxwell Ashby Armfield, 1933

Maxwell Ashby Armfield painted this romantic view of Gunnersbury Park soon after the house and grounds became a public park and museum in the late 1920s. Armfield, who trained in Birmingham and Paris, is well known as a member of the Arts and Crafts Movement. This record of the landscape and buildingÂ’s history will now be displayed at Gunnersbury Park Museum when it reopens after renovation in 2017.
