Glasses decorated by William Absolon of Yarmouth

William Absolon, c. 1792–1793

A group of 11 dark green glasses in three different shapes decorated with a coronet and the words 'Joy and Health to Cornwallis Wherever he Goes'. Charles Cornwallis lived on the Suffolk/Norfolk border. His most noted victory was defeating Tipu Sultan in 1792 when Governor of India.
