Four paintings from the Holman Brothers Collection

Terence Cuneo, 1949–1950

Four works depicting the emergence of Cornish engineering and the development of Holman Bros. Ltd.: 1) Beam Engine Cylinder with Figure (illustrated); 2) The Holman Test Mine; 3) Fire Whim at East Pool; and 4) A Machine Shop, Cramborne Works. Commissioned by the company, a Cornish family firm, to coincide with their 150th anniversary in 1951. Part of the larger Holman Art Collection which includes other engineering scenes, Cornish landscape paintings and portraits of the Holman family.
