Unknown artist, 1600–1900

Two lengths of silk brocade, French, 18th century. Italian linen valance with designs worked in coloured silks, 17th century. Panel and curtain of floral embroidery, Indian, 18th century, a silk square with a floral pattern, Japanese, 19th century. Part of four gifts and two bequests to twenty-three museums by Jean and Rachel Alexander through the Art Fund between 1921 and 1973.
