Art Funded by you

Fen Lane, East Bergholt

John Constable, c. 1817

A landscape scene painted during the artist's long visit to Suffolk. The mud lane winds through the countryside bordered by hedges, fields and trees. Reapers can be seen working in the field on the left. The painting is unfinished and seems to have been started in the open air. This work was acquired with assistance from the Wolfson Foundation.
