Embroidered velvet suit

Unknown artist, 1770–1790

A gentleman's plum velvet suit elaborately embroidered with silks and gold sequins, with a matching green satin waistcoat. Sir Watkin was a famous patron of the arts and one of the wealthiest men of his day as reflected in his flamboyant clothing.
