Art Funded by you

Edinburgh: Old Town

Michael Andrews, 1990–1992

© The artist's estate

Andrews first visited Scotland in 1975. This work was made using photographs as sketches, but the relationships of the buildings to street and sky is partly invented. As much as a 'definition of appearance', it is also a meditation on the long history of a specific place in the heart of the Scottish capital.
