George Louis Du Maurier, 1875–1894
Five drawings for 'Punch' magazine, 1875-94: 1) One Effect of the Sweating Commission; 2) Literal; 3) De Gustibus; 4) Punch Among the Planets; 5) Caxtoniana. Also four reproductions of them from 'Punch'. Part of a collection of 300 drawings and illustrations bequeathed to 57 museums by the estate of George du Maurier through the Art Fund in 1934. Wakefield Art Gallery is currently closed and will open in 2011 as The Hepworth Wakefield.
