Doncaster-Halifax Royal Mail

John Frederick I Herring, 1850

The Doncaster-Halifax Royal Mail Coach with passengers, being driven on a country road. The artist lived in Doncaster for over thirty years and for some time drove the local stage coaches; it is therefore possible that the driver depicted is Herring himself.
