Design for a Papal Tomb Monument
Gianlorenzo Bernini, 1654–1668

© National Galleries of Scotland
Possibly for a monument to Pope Innocent X Pamphili (Colnaghi's catalogue). There are no allegorical figures as in Bernini's other monuments and no tomb, instead the frail Pope leans with hand raised in benediction.
