Collection of works associated with Geoffrey Heath Wedgwood
Geoffrey Heath Wedgwood, 1900–1977

Geoffrey Heath Wedgwood was a pre-eminent engraver with noted Liverpool connections. He studied at the Liverpool School of Art from 1919-1921. In 1925 he won the prestigious Prix de Rome in Engraving. He returned to teach at the Liverpool Institute and later the School of Art in the 1930s. Charles Sydney Jones, a major University benefactor, was a patron. The University holds nearly 80 prints, the majority collected by Sydney Jones. The Ryan-Woods gift includes his Rome medal and a significant group of drawings, an under-represented medium in the University collection. The illustration depicts the Rankin Porch at Liverpool Cathedral and was used as a Christmas card.
