Collection of three pieces of furniture

Peter van der Waals, 1900–1937

This collection is comprised of a mahogany dressing table, with a toilet mirror en suite, and an oval oak double gate-leg dining-table. Peter Waals was the foreman and one of the leading craftsmen in the workshop established by Ernest Gimson at Sapperton in the Cotswolds. The achievement of Gimson, architect, designer and craftsman, has been compared with that of William Morris.
