
200 items of silver representative of the Huguenot school of goldsmiths, including Pierre Harache, John Chartier, Pierre Platel (father-in-law of Paul Lamerie), Anthony Nelme, David Willaume, Louys Cuny and Paul Crespin. Early pieces include the Elwes Salt, 1631-2, Rose water ewer, 1632-3, Charles II bellows 1662-3. There are 44 pieces by Paul Lamerie including a punch bowl engraved with figures in contemporary dress which, with a toilet set of 28 pieces, was made for George Treby, MP. These works are part of a larger bequest which included pictures, prints, Oriental ceramics and silver plate.
