Collection of jetons and counters

Collection of jetons and counters commemorative of contemporary events. 111 Dutch and Flemish jetons, 19 French jetons, 11 Nuremberg counters,calendars. Jetons approx 25cm in diameter. This collection was donated by Max Rosenheim who presented over 170 works to the British Museum through the Art Fund between 1904 and 1911. Max Rosenheim was a financier and part of the Executive Committee of the Art Fund from its inauguration. He was a well known collector of engravings and medals and also Trustee of the British Museum.
