Collection of Japanese and Chinese Ceramics and Japanese Paintings

Various, 1650-2000

This extensive collection is a valuable addition to National Museums ScotlandÂ’s collections of Chinese and Japanese ceramics, spanning the ancient to contemporary. A highlight is the six-panel folding screen Plum Tree by the Nanga painter Sugai Baikan. Please note that this screen was not gifted to the British Museum as incorrectly reported in the Summer 2015 issue.
