Collection of 19th and 20th century Japanese ceramics

© British Museum

These 25 Japanese ceramics have been presented from the collection of David and Anne Hyatt King. The group includes vases (example pictured), dishes and bowls, selected by the donors with their extensive knowledge of the British Museum’s holdings and with the collection’s gaps in mind. The group reflects the powerful influence of Chinese designs on Japanese ceramics in the 19th and 20th centuries.
