Clear Glass Sculpture with Shells and Textured Gold Disc
Colin Reid, 2007

A large single piece of thick optical glass which has been kiln cast in a silicone mould and cold worked, particularly grinding, polishing and gilding. It demonstrates much of the best of Reids current methods and thinking. This is the first work by Reid in Reading's collection and enhances its works by master craftspeople and abstract artists.
