© David Brangwyn
This work depicts the artist's romantic response to a very familiar Welsh landmark. The work is rapidly painted in oils on composition board over a thin red ground. The artist's works in oil on this relatively small scale are really oil sketches, and this picture has the fluency and apparent speed of execution that Brangwyn's contemporaries admired.
