Bust of a Man

Aimé-Jules Dalou, 1873

The sitter has not yet been identified, but from his headgear, it would seem that he is a sculptor. Dalou only worked in terracotta for the finished sculpture during his English period. The busts required between 25 and 30 sittings and were extremely popular at the time.
