Bowl

William Smith, 1887–1888

This bowl has a deliberate asymmetrical lobed shape and is decorated with an abstracted trailing ornament inspired by Japanese metalwork. It is an example of Smith changing his style late in life to keep up with the latest fashion in metalwork.
