Douglas Gordon, 2007

This work extends the artistic language of the centre's collection from the abstract and concrete to the conceptual. Douglas Gordon is one of the most prominent artists of his generation and is a leading figure in Scottish contemporary art. The work came with specific installation instructions such as 'the text should be the colour of the eyes of the first person you meet after reading this instruction' and 'parameters of 'as you like it' are: as low as it goes, as high as it gets, as close as you can, as far as you want'.
