Art Funded by you

Album of architectural drawings

Alfred Waterhouse, c. 1880

The album contains 66 detailed drawings of the enrichments for the new Museum of Natural History (South Kensington) modelled by C Dujardin for Alfred Waterhouse. The drawings show considerable delicacy to ensure that important details of the terracotta reliefs which adorn the museum interior and cladding were not lost through shrinkage during the final firing process.
