Part of the Patteson collection. John Patterson's collection was enlarged by the fortuitous inheritance, by marriage, of the core of the collection of the Suffolk antiquary Rev.Cox Macro DD, a major part of which was a group of paintings by Peter Tillemans (1684-1734) of Antwerp.
