2 mediaeval alabaster carvings

Unknown artist, 1400–1450

1) Subject unidentified, a group of figures and an angel; 2) Fragment unidentified (?Transfiguration). Group of figures plus an angel. These works were donated by Max Rosenheim who presented over 170 works to the British Museum through the Art Fund between 1904 and 1911. Max Rosenheim was a financier and part of the Executive Committee of the Art Fund from its inauguration. He was a well known collector of engravings and medals and also Trustee of the British Museum.
