Four drawings from a collection of 50 pencil drawings. 1) 'Tolcarne Cornwall'; view looking along a street on which two figures walk uphill with women standing in a doorway; 2) 'Richmond Yorks'; view on the bank of a river, with two fishermen in the foreground and a hill rising up steeply behind, surmounted by a ruined castle; 3) 'Near Ullswater Cumberland'; view on a river which flows beneath a single-arched bridge; 4) 'Part of Warwick Castle' (main illustration); the back of the castle, partly hidden by a tree in the foreground with a pond or lake in front. Henry Gastineau was a member of the Old Water Colour Society. He made many drawings for topographical publications and excelled in depicting wild and romantic scenery.
