Art Funded by you

1) Kiss; 2) Composition in Red

Francis Morland, 1) 1965; 2) c. 1968

Francis Morland was a rising star in the London art world in the 1960s, who participated in key exhibitions like 'New Generation' at Whitechapel Art Gallery alongside sculptors such as Anthony Caro. 'Kiss' was exhibited in 'New Generation: 1966' and gives a sense of the playful aspect of the New Generation sculptors. Its radical reinterpretation of an established subject-matter for sculpture is also interesting. These two works have been selected in consultation with the artist. The gallery aims to foster their relationship with the artist as part of the acquisition.
