This year we sent five Student Art Pass members on a five-day tour of our five Art Fund Museum of the Year 2018 finalists.

Melissa, Fleur, Saroj, Shannon and Dan left London on Monday 11 June for Brooklands Museum, then visited Glasgow Women's Library, Ferens Art Gallery and Tate St Ives before finishing up at the Postal Museum on Friday 15 June.

They captured their journey while on the road and at each of the museums. You can take a look back at their adventures on Twitter and Instagram via #MuseumoftheYear, and watch their highlights of each day below.

Day 1 – Brooklands Museum

Day 2 – Glasgow Women's Library

Day 3 – Ferens Art Gallery

Day 4 – Tate St Ives

Day 5 – The Postal Museum

And below, Dan reflects on the trip and shares his thoughts on why we should be visiting museums and galleries, and how they can inspire us.

Art Fund Museum of the Year is the biggest museum prize in the world, seeking out and celebrating innovation and exceptional achievement in museums and galleries across the UK. On 5 July we'll award £100,000 to one outstanding winner and £10,000 to each finalist at a ceremony hosted at the V&A in London.
