Video: Beyond Caravaggio at National Gallery

Arts broadcaster Kate Bryan explores the phenomenon of Caravaggisim at the National Gallery's blockbuster exhibition.

The tempestuous painter, Caravaggio, used light and shade to create epic, cinematic works of art. The artist's dramatic works of art and personal life soon gained a following of admirers, stretching far beyond the Italian cities in which he worked. The National Gallery's autumn exhibition demonstrates the cult of 'Caravaggism' through the work of his contemporaries and followers.
