Competition: Sensing Spaces at the Royal Academy of Arts
- Royal Academy of Arts
- 22 January 2014
Win a day out at the Royal Academy's playful and ambitious new architecture exhibition.
The Art Fund has teamed up with the Royal Academy of Arts to offer you the chance to win a pair of tickets to see the groundbreaking exhibition, Sensing Spaces: Architecture Reimagined, plus a tantalising afternoon tea for two at the Restaurant at the Royal Academy and an exhibition catalogue.
About the exhibition
Seven architectural practices from six countries and four continents. 23,000 square feet. 72 days. One monumental exhibition.
Some of the most creative architectural minds from around the world have been set a challenge: to give visitors a new perspective on architecture. Sensing Spaces: Architecture Reimagined will see the RA's main galleries transformed by a series of large scale installations.
As you respond to different structures, textures, lighting, scents and colours, we invite you to consider some of the big questions about the nature of architecture. How do spaces make us feel? What does architecture do for our lives? You will be as much a part of this exhibition as the work itself – invited to touch, climb, walk, talk, sit, contemplate and reimagine the world around you.
Collaborating across the globe on this project are: Grafton Architects (Ireland); Diébédo Francis Kéré (Germany/Burkina Faso); Kengo Kuma (Japan); Li Xiaodong (China); Pezo von Ellrichshausen (Chile); Eduardo Souto de Moura and Álvaro Siza (Portugal).
