Elizabeth I & Her People: Court connections

To celebrate the National Portrait Gallery's new exhibition, we join the dots between the main players in Queen Elizabeth I's court.

Over 400 years have passed since Queen Elizabeth I’s death, but she remains one of the most iconic English monarchs in history – thanks, in part, to the striking portraiture of the time. The National Portrait Gallery’s exhibition Elizabeth I & Her People explores her reign through portraits of Elizabethan movers and shakers, from aristocrats and explorers to butchers and bankers. Below, we join the dots between some of the Virgin Queen's most iconic subjects.

The exhibition runs until 5 January 2014 - get 50% off with your National Art Pass.
