Museum of the Year judges visit Kelvingrove

The Museum of the Year judges have begun their tour of the ten finalists with a trip to the Kelvingrove Museum and Art Gallery in Glasgow.

Since it reopened in 2006 following a £35 million refurbishment, Kelvingrove has previously been nominated twice for the title of Museum of Year, and is the only Scottish museum in the running for this year's £100,000 prize.

The judges, including Art Fund director, Stephen Deuchar, the Daily Telegraph’s arts editor, Sarah Crompton, and contemporary visual artist, Bob and Roberta Smith, enjoyed a tour of Kelvingrove and heard details of its wide-ranging programme. Find out why the judges added Kelvingrove to list of 2013 finalists.
