The artists in the Hayward's record-breaking show sculpt not in marble or bronze, but the very fabric of light itself. From hazy washes of colour to mind-bending moving projections, the works on display are sure to delight.

2. Moore Rodin, Henry Moore Foundation
Reduced price with National Art Pass

This clash of the titans pits works by one of Britain's best-loved artists against pieces by the father of modern sculpture. Moore was profoundly influenced by Rodin and owned many of his works in cast – some of the originals will be on display.

3. Elizabeth Frink: A Retrospective, The Lightbox
Free to all

A recurring theme among Frink's striking bronzes is the nature of masculinity, drawing from her experiences growing up near a Suffolk airbase in wartime. The first retrospective since her death brings together warrior figures, Goggle Head busts and more.

4. Carl Andre: Mass & Matter, Turner Contemporary
Free to all

Controversial American sculptor Carl Andre took industrial materials and transformed them into museum pieces, finding beauty in the mundane with his meticulous, minimal arrangements. Sculptures created between 1963 and 1986 reveal Andre at his most compelling.

5. David Nash at Kew: A Natural Gallery, Royal Botanic Gardens Kew
50% off with National Art Pass

Sculptor and land artist David Nash was given free reign of Kew Gardens to create this dazzling outdoor show, which brings together his studio works and new sculptures created from dead trees on-site.

6. Yinka Shonibare MBE: FABRIC-ATION, Yorkshire Sculpture Park
Free to all

The artist behind Nelson's Ship in a Bottle comes to Yorkshire for this rich and varied show, featuring works made between 2002 and 2013. Radical taxidermy rubs shoulders with Shonibare's flying machine sculptures, collages created from toys and exotic textiles.
