Hollywood Costume in clips

Before you head to the V&A's blockbuster, watch some of the star exhibits in action.

1. Dorothy's Ruby Slippers, Wizard of Oz

Who can forget that magical moment when the Wicked Witch of the East's ruby slippers appear on Dorothy's feet in full throttle Technicolour?

2. Holly Golightly's black evening dress, Breakfast at Tiffany's

A character as elegant as she is poignant, watch the scene Audrey Hepburn’s Holly appears eating breakfast outside Tiffany’s in Hubert De Givenchy's stunning black dress.

3. Scarlett O’Hara’s green ‘curtain’ dress, Gone with the Wind

An epic dress for an epic film. Walter Plunkett must have used a lot of green velvet to create this screen sensation for one of the most famous female characters from the golden era of Hollywood film.

4. Darth Vader, Star Wars

Darth Vader's ominous black armour and cape is on hand to make Star Wars fans smile across the land. Watch the heartbreaking scene where Obi-Wan Kenobi meets his end at the hands of the Dark Lord.

5. Charlie Chaplin, The Tramp

We've saved the best and oldest until last. Nearly a hundred years old now, this has to be one of the most iconic pieces in the exhibition – who'd have thought it was in colour though?
