This year is the bicentenary of the birth of Charles Dickens, and nobody's celebrating more than the Charles Dickens Museum in London. The museum closes later this year for its Great Expectations renovation project, but before it does we thought we'd find out a few of its secrets...
Age: 87. Still young and looking forward to enjoying the energy of my youth!
Describe yourself in three words: Literary, Victorian, Home!
What is your most treasured possession? There are many treasured posessions here but Dickens's Dream by RW Buss tells a great many tales in one beautiful painting.
Your most famous visitor is... Why, the great man himself: Charles Dickens!
Best cafe creation/ shop success... What could be better than enjoying a homemade cake in my wonderful garden on a sunny day?
Any museum pets? The goldfish: Oliver and Nicholas (of course). Although there is a taxidermied raven called Grip that I am rather fond of!
One thing that could make you better is... The Great Expectations refurbishment project due to take place this year. It's all very exciting here in 2012!
You have a Museum crush on... Dennis Severs's house.
What do you most dislike about your appearance? All the houses on Doughty St look much alike so people have trouble finding me.
You’re most happy when… people of all ages walk through my rooms and find something to inspire them.
