Art Fund Regional Volunteers reveal which works of art their fundraising activities have helped to buy for a museum or gallery near them

  • 3 June 2010

To coincide with National Volunteers Week and the publication of the Art Fund's Annual Review, Volunteers for the Art Fund have announced which works of art they have helped buy for a museum or gallery their area.

Leigh Spiers, Director of Volunteering at the Art Fund said: “Volunteers Week gives us a great chance to celebrate what our local representatives have achieved over the last year. Donating their time, energy and imagination, volunteers from every region of the UK help us to recruit more members and raise more money; it is rewarding to know that the money they raise goes towards the purchase of a work of art for a museum or gallery in their region. We’d love to recruit more people to help us though – so any art lovers out there who would like to join the Art Fund – whether as a member or as a volunteer please do get in touch!”
