Wanted: Art Night Guides

Would you like to support one of the most innovative contemporary arts festivals in London? Join Art Night 2019 and gain valuable skills as an Art Night Guide.

Art Night is London’s free contemporary arts festival in extraordinary spaces, this year taking place in Walthamstow and King’s Cross.

Art Night 2019 will centre on the first London Borough of Culture, Waltham Forest, and King’s Cross, London’s dynamic transport and culture hub. Participating artists including Cory Arcangel, Christine Sun Kim, Barbara Kruger, Emma Talbot and Joe Namy.

The festival will occupy familiar places where people are brought together in everyday life, and the programme is inspired by these sites and the communities who use them. Each artist was invited to consider three themes: Hope, Love and The Future and the ideas these words conjure – not because everything is alright, but to imagine how we might act, care for and support each other amidst a time of political and cultural uncertainty.

Your chance to be an Art Night Guide

Art Fund is a supporter of Art Night, and we’re looking for students or recent graduates who are passionate about sharing contemporary art with the world to become guides.

As an Art Night Guide, you’ll receive professional training to help you guide visitors around these exceptional sites, from 5pm-late, teasing out the artistic and historical facts that make the experience accessible and unforgettable for everyone attending.

We’ll provide refreshments throughout your training and on the night itself, and you will be paid the hourly London Living Wage for your shift on the night of the festival.

You’ll also receive an Art Night tote bag and a private view of the installations before everyone else. You will have to attend one evening training session in the week commencing 10 June 2019.
