The Wedgwood factory in Stoke is one of the longest-running production facilities in
the world, in constant operation since 1759.
Its vast and priceless collection of ceramics was saved for the nation in 2014 by Art
Fund. The Wedgwood Museum have pulled out all the stops to welcome Art Fund
members on this superb exclusive tour, including a guided tour with curator, Gaye
Blake-Roberts, of the factory, design workshop and archives (not normally open to the
public) as well as a sumptuous afternoon tea and tea tasting. Added to this is a visit to
Middleport Pottery – home of Burleigh – Gladstone Works in Stoke and the superb
collection of works by Joseph Wright in Derby. The tour is based at the superb three-star
Upper House Hotel, Barlaston, former home of Wedgwood’s grandson.
With curator talk, archive visit and quintessential afternoon tea.
