The Surrey Committee has been well established for many years and currently there are nine members working to raise money for the Art Fund. On the whole the Committee runs a wide-ranging series of lectures, which take place at The Menuhin Hall, Stoke d'Abernon, Cobham, a lovely venue with free parking and an amazing acoustic. For example, recently the committee had lectures on such diverse topics as Piero della Francesca, Modern Art and the Old Masters, and The Court of Charles I. Lectures for the autumn include Danish Art and Design and Icons and the Sacred Art of Russia.
The Committee also arranges visits, some to private studios and houses and some to larger venues. Recent visits have been to Adam Aaronson's Glass Studio and Norney Grange, a wonderful Voysey house. We have also held joint events at Watts Gallery and The Lightbox in the past. We are now looking forward to visiting Godinton House and Chapel Down Winery and Shepperton Studios for a demonstration by a blind artist. The Committee is always looking for ways to widen its scope and welcomes any suggestions.
Please note some of our events can now be booked online through Eventbrite.
If you would like to be added to the Surrey email list, please contact email@example.com and similarly if you might be interested in joining the Committee.
