Caro Howell is director of The Foundling Museum. She was previously head of education & public events at the Whitechapel Gallery, London and has worked as an independent museum education consultant in the UK and abroad. Part of Tate Modern’s set-up team from 1997, she formulated their access and audience development strategy, set up London’s first peer-led museum programme for 15-to-23-year-olds, and developed resources for disabled people, winning a BAFTA for i-Map (2002), the UK’s first online art resources for blind and partially sighted people. Caro sits on the Charterhouse Design Advisory Group and the Exhibition Advisory Group for Two Temple Place.
