1. Help put fan making back on the map
Earlier this year the craft of fan making was included in the Radcliffe Red List of Endangered Craft, categorised as critically endangered and at serious risk of no longer being practised in the UK. We need your help to fund our Street Fans project and reinvigorate this endangered craft form.
2. Support a small, independent museum
The Fan Museum is the UK’s only museum which celebrates fans and fan making. We operate as a charitable trust and receive no public funding. Only with the generosity of our supporters are we able to fully realise ambitious projects like Street Fans.
3. Get your hands on original street art prints, fans and other unique rewards
By donating to the campaign, you’ll receive a limited-edition reward to say thank you. We’re working with renowned street artists and fan maker Sylvain Le Guen to create a range of exclusive rewards. Travel about town in style with a tote bag emblazoned with a design by Skeleton Cardboard, or decorate your walls with a framed fan print by Captain Kris. Enjoy a Champagne afternoon tea in our elegant Orangery, flutter an original Sylvain Le Guen fan or even have your very own mural painted by rising star of the UK street art scene, Artista.
4. Enable 30 street artists and one fan maker to explore new ways of working

Street Fans will unite two disparate spheres of artistry: fan making and street art. Your donations will enable us to stage a major exhibition of contemporary fans, created by Europe’s leading fan maker, Sylvain Le Guen in collaboration with an international cast of street artists including RUN, C215, Nathan Bowen, Sr. X, Himbad, Otto Schade and Dale Grimshaw.
5. Help us introduce fan making and street art to new audiences

We’ll use your donations to stage several project-linked events aimed at engaging audiences. Events planned include a paint jam at Greenwich Market, fan design competition for students at Lewisham Southwark College and mural painting and fan making sessions at Greenwich University.
