"... a derelict Victorian fire station rises from the ashes as a bright new annexe of the South London Gallery." Jonathan Bell, Wallpaper
On 22 September we opened the doors of the Fire Station to the public for the first time in a weekend of celebrations. We were delighted that well over 2,000 people joined us, so thank you to all those who came along.
Highlights included a busy session in the newly furnished education space, which welcomed over 300 visitors on Saturday and saw children creating over 42 of their own DIY publications. Our cooking session in the new kitchen space on Sunday was also popular with visitors enjoying a freshly made Lebanese bread pudding.
Most of you should now have received your rewards through the post, with the exception of the 'tea for two' vouchers which will be sent out this week and we are directly in touch with those who selected experience rewards. If you chose to receive a reward and have yet to do so, please contact the Art Fund's supporter services: email@example.com or if you would like to contact the SLG please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
We would like to extend a sincere and final thank you for all of your support with our Art Happens campaign and hope you will visit many times in the future.
