Getting a four-tonne bronze sculpture like Physical Energy into place is a huge undertaking, and behind the scenes we have been working tirelessly to ensure our horse gets to the top of the hill.
With planning permission granted, Marian Boswall Architectural Designs complete, Focus Project Management appointed, ecology and soil surveys undertaken, construction company tenders received, and with key stakeholder support, we are now ready to focus on preparing the site itself.
After proudly standing in Annenberg Courtyard at the Royal Academy of Arts for five months, Physical Energy is currently with sculpture-moving specialists Mtec in Hertfordshire where it is having a clean – and will be staying here in storage ahead of its procession to Surrey and up the hill to the Artists' Village.
We anticipate that Physical Energy will take up residence beside the A3 this autumn. Keep an eye on your updates to find out more about the when and how.
