We have been absolutely delighted with the response to our Art Happens campaign, and to the idea behind the Ladies of Quality & Distinction exhibition. Since the campaign launched on 1 February, there have been articles about the exhibition in The Times and The Art Newspaper, and we have been thrilled to see so many people sharing their excitement on social media.
Over 200 people have donated, raising almost £13,000 to date. This is such an amazing achievement and I’d like to extend my thanks to each and every person who has contributed. Every penny makes a real difference, helping us find more portraits of these wonderful women and pushing us further towards our goal of reuniting them on the site of the Foundling Hospital they helped create.
With one week to go - the campaign ends at midnight on Monday 5 March – we are keen to close the gap on the final 37% of our remaining target. Remember, if we do not hit the target then the Museum receives no funding and donors will have their pledges returned. If you want to donate but haven’t got round to it, please do so during our final week, and if you have already donated we would be so grateful if you could spread the word to your friends and family.
Thank you to everyone who has given and to those who have been in touch to tell us how much you are looking forward to seeing the exhibition; we hope we will see you all there once the target has been met!
