The RWA in Bristol is the UK's only regional Royal Academy of Art and one of the most beautiful galleries in the country. But our historic walls can feel imposing meaning many people don't experience the incredible art inside. We want to change that. Help us raise £20k to transform our basement into a vibrant space where everyone can enjoy and make art.

We especially want to focus on our work with children and vulnerable groups. Without the additional funding, we will not be able to offer the provision for these groups in the foreseeable future.
Everyone who visits the RWA in future will be able to drop in and use the new Family Room, which will be designed to be especially welcoming for children, families of all ages and school groups.
The space will provide informal creativity for everyone to come and make art; including chairs and appropriate height tables, dressing up clothes, a quiet corner with bean bags, art materials, a sandpit sculpture activity, tablets to create digital art and other self-led activities.
The Community Room will be a private space, bookable for use by vulnerable community groups. Adults and children with profound disabilities will be able to use the adjacent Changing Places toilet facility.
The Community Room will include tables and comfortable chairs, with a projector for presentations and tea and coffee making facilities for visiting groups.
