Two months ago we set out to raise £25,000, money that would help restore some of Charleston's wonderful painted interiors. The project ends today and thanks to generosity of all of our donors we achieved 130% of our target, an incredible £32,404.
The additional money will all go to restoring the painted surfaces in the house and to ensure that the decorations and collection are kept in the best possible condition.
Charleston closes its 2015 season on Sunday 1 November. Then we will have a winter of conservation, so that we'll be ready to open the house to the public on Wednesday 23 March. Throughout the winter we will be posting regular updates about the project and the work that the conservators will be doing.
Thank you once again for all of your support.
