From LS Lowry to JMW Turner, the Granary Gallery champions some of the most celebrated British and Scottish artists through its rich programme.
Housed in an old granary from 1769 which is situated inside of Berwick’s Elizabethan Quay Walls, the gallery presents exhibitions throughout the year with a focus on modern and contemporary artists who have been inspired by the Northumberland and Scottish borders.
Previous shows have also featured groups of radical painters, including the Glasgow Boys and Girls from the 1880s, who were disillusioned with the academic nature of painting at the time, and the Scottish Colourists, who were inspired by the vibrancy of French Fauvism.
